About the Project

About Us

Farmatic is a project for the World Robotic Olympiad (WRO), by Kirchenfeldrobotics. We are a small team who is working on this project. We are trying to make vertical farming modular and more affordable, while still remaining fully automated. We strongly believe that vertical farming is the future of farming as it is far more ressource efficient as traditional farming.

Our Main Goals

Modularity

Our farm consits of different modules which can be assembled in less than 30 minutes. This approach improves transportability, unlocking new opportunities for deployment and scalability. The Farm can be deployed flexible and fast.

Automation

So far, we’ve successfully developed automated watering and lighting systems, along with an lift that enables seamless integration of the seeding and harvesting mechanisms we’re aiming to refine.

Affordability

To make our farm more accessible, we have designed it to be as affordable as possible. For this, we’ve used new methods, such as a completely 3D-printed framework and standard, cheaply available components to reduce costs.
